Brake Pipe Flaring Tool, suitable for Soft Copper, Cupro Nickel and Steel Brake Pipes. (SAE Flares Only)
Contains: 4.75mm, 3/16", 1/4", 5/16" & 3/8" punch and die sets.
The tool can either be mounted in a conventional bench vice or on its own purpose-built base plate.
Brake tubing is held in split dies, which are secured by an overhead locking screw, mounted on a swing clamp.
The mandrill is then positioned in its retainer and advanced into the flaring position by manual operation of the cam lever.
Additional punch-and-die sets may be required. eg 6mm pipe requires BPF9, 8mm pipe requires BPF10.
Sae is commonly known as a double flare.
DIN is a single flare.
